PayPal Revamps PYUSD with LayerZero, Expanding Across Nine Blockchains
PayPal is taking its stablecoin, PYUSD, to new heights. Thanks to LayerZero’s technology, PYUSD is now available on nine diffrent chains such as Tron adn Avalanche.
On September 18th, PayPal announced this expansion through LayerZero’s interoperability platform. PYUSD0, a new token standard, will be launched on these chains. This token allows PYUSD to work seamlessly across multiple networks, acting as a truebridge linking diverse blockchain ecosystems.
The PYUSD0 standard enhances paypal’s stablecoin game substantially. Prior to this, PYUSD operated independently on each blockchain. With PYUSD0, it becomes a single, uniform asset across all supported chains. Users don’t have to worry about differences between PYUSD and PYUSD0—they are both usable and exchangeable at the same rate.
- PYUSD0 functions identically on chains like Tron and Ethereum.
- This upgrade helps PayPal compete better against dominant stablecoins.
- It offers a trusty稳定coin option to developers on Aptos, Sei, and Avalanche.
“PYUSD0 extends PayPal’s reach and adaptability,” stated bryan Pellegrino, CEO of LayerZero Labs. “This is the beginning of a unified, round-the-clock global financial market.”
This move also validates LayerZero’s acquisition of the Stargate bridge protocol. The Stargate’s Hydra model makes it possible to expand assets efficiently across various connected chains.
