Crypto giants Secretly Back trump’s Inauguration with Millions
Recent financial filings have exposed that major crypto firms, including Consensys, Solana, and Uniswap, quietly contributed millions to Trump’s inauguration fund. The FEC report, released on April 20,sheds light on these undisclosed donations.
Solana Labs was a significant contributor, donating $1 million without public acknowledgment. uniswap’s CEO, Hayden Adams, gave $245,000, while Consensys pitched in $100,000. These contributions helped Trump amass over $239 million for the grand event.
Other crypto giants like Ripple, Coinbase, and Kraken also donated seven-figure sums. Ripple was particularly generous, contributing nearly $4.9 million. This was second only to Pilgrim’s Pride corp,a poultry producer, which gave $1 million.
Notably, tech giants apple and Meta, along with Apple’s CEO Tim Cook, each donated $1 million. AI companies, including OpenAI’s Sam Altman and Perplexity AI, also supported the fund.
While the U.S. government covers the swearing-in ceremony, the surrounding festivities are privately funded. For this, a non-profit Presidential Inaugural Committee collects donations from private entities.
