Bybit Integrates UBS’s uMint Fund for enhanced Trading Versatility
Bybit, a leading crypto exchange, has teamed up with UBS too allow users to use the uMint tokenized fund as trading collateral. This move bridges traditional finance with the crypto world.
On October 13, Bybit announced its partnership with DigiFT, the platform behind uMint. This integration lets traders use their uMint holdings as collateral. uMint, launched by UBS, is a tokenized money market fund.It’s built on Ethereum and backed by short-term U.S. Treasury debt. The fund is ideal for accredited investors seeking low-risk options.
Ben Zhou,Bybit’s CEO,highlighted the partnership’s importance. “This collaboration makes trading more efficient and cost-effective,” he said. Traders can now leverage their uMint holdings without liquidating them.
The partnership benefits institutional investors by reducing capital outlays. it also showcases the potential of tokenization.Henry Zhang, DigiFT’s CEO, explained, “Tokenization boosts capital efficiency and clarity in financial markets.”
UBS introduced uMint in November 2024. It’s the bank’s first tokenized investment fund. The fund targets professional investors looking for secure, short-term investments.
