Binance introduces Community Voting for Token Delisting
Starting March 21, 2025, Binance launched a “Vote to Delist” feature. This allows verified users to vote on removing tokens from the platform’s monitoring zone.
The monitoring zone includes tokens with issues like low liquidity or inactivity. Currently, 27 cryptocurrencies are in this zone. Notable ones are JasmyCoin (JASMY), Zcash (ZEC), and FTX Token (FTT).
To vote, users need a verified binance account and at least 0.01 BNB. Voting ends on March 27, 2025. Users can vote for up to five projects. Votes must be submitted on Binance Square Official.
Community votes are part of the decision but not the only factor. Binance will also review project activity, trading volume, and regulatory compliance.
Binance has delisted tokens before, including Monero (XMR) and Filecoin (FIL). Recently, five more tokens were removed: Aergo (AERGO), AirSwap (AST), BurgerCities (BURGER), COMBO (COMBO), and Linear Finance (LINA).
After the proclamation, these tokens’ prices fell. BurgerCities dropped 48.1% in two hours. The broader crypto market also saw losses, with Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) down 2% to 4%.
