CZ Clarifies His Role in Aster DEX
Changpeng Zhao,the founder of Binance,has clarified his role with the perpetual DEX Aster.
Changpeng Zhao, known as CZ, has addressed community speculation about his involvement with Aster. He confirmed that he is not part of the Aster team but acts as an advisor with a small stake.
Aster, a decentralized exchange, has seen its token surge by 7,000% since launch. This growth has fueled speculation about CZS role in the project.
Confusion arose after an X user claimed CZ said he was “part of the Aster team” during a Spaces session. however, CZ quickly clarified, stating, “Not on the team, just an advisor.”
Several former Binance employees are now part of the Aster team. YZi Labs, CZ’s venture capital firm, holds a minority stake in the platform.
While Aster competes with Binance, CZ believes it ultimately benefits BNB. This viewpoint highlights how competition can drive ecosystem adoption.
CZ’s initial congratulatory post following the ASTER token launch has amplified the platform’s visibility. Though, he denies allegations of market manipulation.
The perpetual DEX space is experiencing rapid growth and competition. Aster’s success could benefit the broader crypto ecosystem, including Binance’s native token.
