Trump Family Crypto Wallet Controversy Escalates with Legal Action
The Trump family is now embroiled in a crypto wallet controversy. World Liberty Financial (WLFI), a DeFi venture backed by Donald Trump and his family, has taken legal action. According to a Bloomberg report on June 5, WLFI issued a cease-and-desist letter to Fight Fight Fight LLC, the company behind the ‘GetTrumpMemes’ crypto wallet.
Earlier this week, the wallet was launched in partnership with Magic Eden. However, the Trump sons, Eric and Donald Jr., quickly took to X (formerly Twitter) to denounce the project. They stated, “This project is not authorized by @Trump.The Trump Institution has zero involvement with this wallet product.”
Following the legal action, the wallet’s website, TrumpWallet.com, has gone offline.yet, promotional content from GetTrumpMemes and Magic Eden remains active on social media.
Interestingly, GetTrumpMemes had previously enjoyed a pleasant relationship with the Trump family. They even attended a dinner hosted by the president for top token holders. The memecoin website claims an 80% share of the Trump cards supply.
This dispute adds to the uncertainty surrounding the Trump family’s crypto ventures. While Donald Trump’s “crypto president” image has gained popularity, questions remain about the authenticity and value of these projects.
