These 3 altcoins lose key support, how low can they go?

Chainlink, Cardano and Solana have fallen below or toward key technical levels on Oct. 8, with all three altcoins trading under pressure after recent rallies failed to hold. Summary Three altcoins trade below technical levels Ali Charts identified after sharp market pullbacks this week. Chainlink remains below $13.56, keeping the analyst’s $12.39 and $11.98 downside targets in play currently. Cardano trades near $0.2538 after rejection from its daily ascending channel’s upper boundary this week. Solana trades near $113.65, already below the analyst’s initial $114 target after losing channel support. Solana network growth jumped 124% since early September, according to on-chain analytics firm Santiment recently. Ali Charts said LINK, ADA and SOL were showing separate bearish setups across four-hour and daily charts in his Oct. 7 market analysis. His targets remain conditional technical scenarios, not confirmed price destinations, and each setup depends on whether buyers reclaim the levels that recently failed. Why these altcoins are under pressure CoinGecko shows Chainlink near $13.04, down around 4% over 24 hours, with a daily range of $13.03 to $13.51. Its market capitalization stands near $9.76 billion, while 24-hour trading volume is roughly $335 million. LINK is therefore still below the $13.56 level Ali Charts identified as the line that would weaken his bearish head-and-shoulders setup. The analyst said LINK “appears to be breaking below” the neckline of that pattern on its four-hour chart. If price stays below $13.56, he placed $12.39 as the first downside target and $11.98 as the next level if selling continues. Among the three altcoins, LINK has the clearest two-step downside map from the analyst’s thread. 2/5 First is $LINK. Chainlink appears to be breaking below the neckline of a head-and-shoulders pattern on its four-hour chart. As long as price stays below $13.56, the pattern points toward $12.39, with $11.98 as the next level to watch if selling continues. pic.twitter.com/dFoGRwhtv3— Ali Charts (@alicharts) October 7, 2026 Chainlink had traded above $14 earlier this week, while CoinGecko historical data shows an Oct. 4 close near $14.27. The latest price therefore leaves LINK more than $1 below that level. As crypto.news reported in its latest Chainlink price analysis, LINK had already fallen toward $13.35 as wallet growth lagged its September price advance. Cardano could retest $0.21 if channel rejection holds Cardano is trading near $0.2538, with CoinGecko placing its 24-hour range between $0.2517 and $0.2758. ADA has a market value near $9.53 billion and daily trading volume around $668 million. Among these altcoins, ADA remains slightly positive over seven days in CoinGecko’s latest reading despite its sharp daily decline. Ali Charts said ADA was rejected at the upper boundary of an ascending channel on the daily chart. His Cardano analysis points toward the lower channel boundary near $0.21 if that rejection continues. A drop from $0.2538 to $0.21 would equal roughly 17%, though the target depends on the chart structure remaining valid. The latest weakness follows a stronger start to the week. Crypto.news reported on Oct. 6 that ADA had approached $0.28 while open interest increased about 25% during the rally. Santiment counted 413 transactions worth at least $100,000 on Oct. 5, showing that large transfers rose sharply while ADA was moving higher. For traders comparing the three altcoins, Cardano’s setup differs from LINK because the bearish target comes from an ascending-channel rejection instead of a head-and-shoulders breakdown. Price would need to keep moving toward the lower boundary for Ali’s $0.21 scenario to develop. Solana has already slipped below the first target Solana is trading around $113.65, down about 3% over 24 hours, according to CoinGecko. Its daily range sits between $113.68 and $117.70, while market capitalization is roughly $66.98 billion and 24-hour volume is close to $3.02 billion. Ali Charts said SOL confirmed a four-hour channel breakdown with a close below $117. He put $114 in focus first and $111 next if $114 failed in his Solana chart update. With SOL now trading around $113.65, the first target has already been crossed, leaving $111 as the next level in his stated setup. The move places Solana among the altcoins facing immediate technical pressure, though network data remains strong. Of the three altcoins, SOL carries the largest market capitalization by a wide margin. Santiment reported that Solana network growth had jumped 124% since early September, with roughly 1.71 million new wallets being created daily. The analytics firm said the increase showed more users entering the network. 🚨 More and More Users Are Showing Up Across Solana’s Network📈 Solana’s network growth has jumped 124% since early September. Around 1.71M new wallets are now being created daily, showing that fresh users are entering the ecosystem at a much faster pace.👥 Daily active… pic.twitter.com/FJjYe0bpI3— Santiment Intelligence (@SantimentData) October 7, 2026 Santiment described the activity as supportive for Solana’s longer-term network use, but the data does not cancel the short-term chart breakdown. Network use and token price can move differently over shorter periods, leaving SOL’s next technical level dependent on how price behaves around $111. Crypto.news had previously identified $124 to $125 as Solana’s main upside resistance entering October. SOL failed to hold that region and has since moved below $117, placing the altcoins’ current setup on the opposite side of that earlier breakout condition. What could happen next for the altcoins The three setups now depend on clearly defined levels. LINK would need to recover $13.56 to weaken Ali’s bearish pattern, while continued trading below it keeps $12.39 and $11.98 in view. ADA remains well above the analyst’s $0.21 channel target, leaving more distance before that downside case would be tested. SOL is much closer to its next level after slipping below $114. A move under $111 would extend the four-hour breakdown described by Ali Charts, while a recovery above $117 would move price back over the support level that failed. The three altcoins are moving during a softer crypto session in which major digital assets have faced renewed selling. Weakness in Bitcoin can put pressure on large-cap altcoins, although the individual LINK, ADA and SOL targets cited here come from their own chart structures. Current derivatives data shows meaningful leverage remains across the altcoins and their derivatives markets. CoinGecko lists perpetual open interest near $1.15 billion for LINK, $1.30 billion for ADA and $10.20 billion for SOL. Open interest measures outstanding derivatives positions and does not show by itself whether the next price move will be higher or lower. For the altcoins, the first evidence against the bearish setups would be a recovery of the broken or rejected levels. LINK needs $13.56, SOL needs to regain $117, while Cardano would need to move back toward the upper part of its daily channel before the $0.21 scenario loses relevance. Ali Charts said the levels were being watched for signs that the pullbacks were “gaining momentum.” The analyst did not say the downside targets were guaranteed, leaving confirmation to subsequent candles and price behavior around the stated support and resistance levels.
