Tether Surpasses 400 Million Users,CEO Predicts 1 Billion Soon
Tether,the leading stablecoin issuer,has reached over 400 million users. CEO paolo Ardoino shared this milestone on March 27, 2025, via X. The user base has grown by 50 million since October 2024. Ardoino believes tether could hit 1 billion users soon.
Ardoino calls this growth part of the “stablecoin multiverse.” He notes that many companies and governments are launching their stablecoins. Tether’s market cap is over $144.1 billion, making it the largest stablecoin issuer. The company’s success is due to it’s grassroots approach, unlike conventional finance.
Tether’s expansion is rapid, especially on networks like TRON and Ethereum. However, competition is heating up. Circle, Tether’s main rival, is gaining ground in Asia. Despite this,Tether is diversifying its investments. It plans to acquire a 30% stake in Be Water, a media company in Rome.
while Ardoino didn’t detail how Tether calculated its user estimates, the growth is important.In less than six months, the user base increased by about 14%. This shows the growing adoption of stablecoins globally.
