Pipe Network Launches Incentive Program for Decentralized content Delivery
On May 1,at the Token2049 conference in Dubai,Pipe Network unveiled a new rewards program for users who contribute bandwidth to its decentralized content delivery system. This initiative, called PipeQuest, aims to boost engagement with the testnet and prepare for the mainnet launch in summer 2025.
The program will reward node operators who provide computing power to the network. These nodes will form the backbone of Pipe Network’s decentralized content delivery network, built on the Solana blockchain. By participating, users can earn rewards while helping to build a scalable ecosystem for sharing data and streaming content.
one of the key advantages of Pipe Network is its ability to turn almost any device into a Point of Presence (PoP) node. This means that personal computers, laptops, and even mobile devices can contribute their idle computing power to the network. The proximity of these smaller nodes to end users can reduce latency, resulting in faster content loading times.
david Rhodus, founder of Permissionless labs, the company behind Pipe Network, highlighted the benefits during the Token2049 event. “We’re excited to showcase how a decentralized CDN can enhance bandwidth and reduce latency beyond traditional off-chain solutions,” he said.
Currently, the network has over 200,000 PoP nodes, which have uploaded more than 200,000 files and stored a cumulative 250 Terabytes of data. Pipe network aims to create a decentralized internet infrastructure that doesn’t rely on expensive data centers run by big tech firms.
