Shibarium Reactivates BONE Plasma Bridge wiht Enhanced security
Shibarium has reopened the Plasma Bridge for the BONE token. This move comes after a recent security breach that led to the theft of over $4.1 million. the Shiba Inu team has taken steps to enhance the security of the bridge.
What’s new in the Shibarium bridge? The reactivated platform now includes a proactive blacklisting system. This system allows the team to flag and block suspicious addresses, preventing future attacks.
Additionally, a 7-day withdrawal delay has been introduced for all BONE Plasma withdrawals. This delay gives security teams time to monitor and respond to any suspicious activity. The Shiba Inu team believes this will add an extra layer of defence without affecting user access.
The recent hack involved an attacker gaining access to 4.6 million BONE tokens. The attacker used a flash loan to purchase the tokens and then exploited a vulnerability in the Shibarium Bridge. The stolen assets included $1 million in Ether, $1.3 million in SHIB, and over $717,000 in KNINE. Prices of SHIB,BONE,and KNINE fell after the exploit in September. The team’s quick response helped prevent further losses.
Shibarium’s Plasma Bridge is now back online with these new security measures. Users can once again bridge BONE between Ethereum and Shibarium with a safer, stronger, and more resilient experience.
