Blockchain For Impact Surpasses $90 Million in Healthcare Funding
Blockchain For Impact (BFI), founded by Polygon co-founder Sandeep Nailwal, has raised over $90 million for healthcare innovation. The organization also pledged an additional $200 million for future projects.
BFI focuses on funding healthcare startups, biomedical research, adn climate resilience initiatives. Key programs include the Samarth Medical Innovation Program and the European Biomedical Exchange Program.The BFI-BIOME Virtual Network Program is their flagship initiative, supporting over 46 startups and partnering with 15 medical colleges for 50 research projects.
Nailwal aims to create obvious, scalable on-chain systems to advance healthcare.”Blockchain’s clarity ensures every dollar is maximized for impact,” he said.
Nailwal is also known for launching a COVID Relief Fund for India, which received support from crypto figures like Vitalik Buterin and Balaji Srinivasan.
the Giving Block reported that crypto philanthropy reached over $1 billion in 2024, with an average donation of $10,978, up 386% from 2023.
