Ledger teams Up with Mercuryo and MasterCard for Crypto Spending Card
Good news for crypto enthusiasts! Ledger, Mercuryo, and MasterCard have joined forces to create a new credit card. This card lets Ledger users spend their crypto tokens directly from their hardware wallets.
On April 23, Mercuryo introduced the Spend card. It effectively works with Ledger devices and automatically converts crypto to fiat currency during transactions. This means users can spend their crypto holdings anywhere in the world without needing to convert them manually.
Mercuryo’s CEO, Petr Kozyakov, said the partnership aims to provide a seamless user experience. The Spend card will be accepted by over 150 million merchants in MasterCard’s global network. It can also be added to apple Pay and google Pay for added convenience.
However, users must pass KYC/AML checks to get the card. Despite this, they’ll enjoy mastercard’s consumer protections. Jean-Francois Rochet, Ledger’s Executive Vice President, said the Spend card offers users more choices to spend their crypto.
This collaboration is a critically important step towards mainstream crypto adoption. It makes it easier for users to use their crypto in everyday transactions.
