Marc Vanlerberghe, Algorand’s head of strategy and marketing, shares insights on the campaign. Unlike typical reward programs, Algorand focuses on engagement rather than fleeting transactions. Users earn points through various activities, enhancing community involvement instead of just receiving immediate payouts. This approach ensures longer-term commitment.
The entire campaign operates on Algorand’s blockchain. from points and referrals to the selection of winners, everything uses the network’s verifiable random function.Vanlerberghe explains, “Our consensus involves a lottery-style mechanism were stakes act like tickets. Randomly chosen nodes propose blocks, ensuring a decentralized and secure system.”
Targeting experienced blockchain users, the campaign showcases recent advancements like staking rewards and diverse projects such as Alpha Arcade and Haystack. These highlight Algorand’s user-friendly transactions, instant finality, and high security. Vanlerberghe notes, “We want users to enjoy the smooth, Web2-like experience Algorand offers.”
Despite the robust infrastructure and user base over 3 billion transactions, Algorand has avoided hype. Vanlerberghe says,”The campaign aims to enhance awareness and bridge the perception gap between our size and recognition.”
