Coinbase Expands Altcoin Support for Perpetual Futures
Crypto giant coinbase has introduced more altcoins as collateral for perpetual futures trading. Key additions include Sei, Pepe, Bonk, and Pump.fun.
These fresh options bring greater flexibility to users buying and selling through Coinbase International Exchange and Coinbase Advanced. Cryptocurrencies like PUMP and AERO responded positively on Friday due to the declaration.Despite losses in major digital assets amid U.S. jobs data release, these tokens showed gains.
This expansion follows a June update where Coinbase added 12 currencies, such as Aave and NEAR, as collateral. Also noteworthy, Coinbase raised the perpetual futures leverage cap from 20x to 50x last month. Both retail traders on Coinbase Advanced and institutional investors using the Coinbase International Exchange can benefit from this 50x leverage on supported assets.
Coinbase recently rolled out perpetual futures for Horizen, UMA, and GMX.Moreover, the firm unveiled decentralized exchange trading in August targeted at some U.S. users. This feature enables users to explore and trade numerous Base-native tokens using the Coinbase app.
