Cetus Offers $5 million for Hacker Data After $223 Million sui Exploit
Cetus, the prominent decentralized exchange on the Sui blockchain, is seeking public assistance to identify a hacker responsible for a $223 million exploit. The attack occurred on May 22, 2025. The next day, the Cetus team reported that they hadn’t heard from the hacker.
Following the exploit, Cetus extended an offer to the hacker, hoping to resolve the situation amicably. Regrettably, there has been no response. In response, Cetus has announced a $5 million reward for any information that leads to the hacker’s identification and arrest.
Cetus’ security team seeks details such as the hacker’s name,location,and proof. They urge the hacker to accept their offer and return the stolen funds. This would end the pursuit of legal action.
On the day of the attack, the Cetus team quickly froze $162 million of the compromised funds. Their goal is to recover over 20,920 Ethereum (ETH) and all funds frozen on Sui. this swift action safeguarded a substantial amount of assets.
