Bybit Launches Europe-Focused Crypto Platform
Bybit has unveiled Bybit.eu, a new crypto platform for the European Economic Area.The proclamation came on July 1, highlighting the platform’s full compliance with the EU’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation.
Bybit EU GmbH, based in Vienna, Austria, will manage the platform. It aims to serve 29 countries in the EEA. The platform is licensed as a crypto-asset service provider, ensuring it meets strict regulatory standards.
Bybit.eu is tailored to meet the region’s needs. It adheres to MiCA, Europe’s crypto regulation. this ensures safety and transparency for users. MiCA sets rules for crypto firms, covering areas like investor protection and transparency. Bybit.eu is a notable step for the company, showing its dedication to European markets. While its initial rollout is from Vienna, Bybit plans to expand its presence via the platform with offices across Italy, France, Germany and Spain.
Bybit is one of the top crypto exchanges in the market to secure a MiCA license, with the company achieving the milestone in late May. The exchange received the regulatory nod from the Financial Market Authority of Austria.
The EU’s MiCA came into full implementation at the end of December 2024, with the thorough regulation mandating all crypto providers to register as service providers. Key compliance requirements include anti-money laundering practices and user data privacy and security. “Our goal is to become a catalyst for crypto adoption in Europe,” said Zeng. Other crypto exchange platforms to secure the MiCA nod include Coinbase, OKX, and Kraken.
