Bitcoin’s Future Looks Bright, According to Expert
Bitcoin is making waves again. anthony Pompliano, CEO of Professional Capital Management, shared his optimistic views on the cryptocurrency during a CNBC interview. With Bitcoin prices around $85,000, Pompliano believes it’s on track for a strong future.
Despite a 10% drop in 2025,pompliano sees similarities between Bitcoin and gold. Both assets have gained about 35% over a year. He notes that gold often leads these rallies. “Central banks and big investors usually favor gold during uncertain times,” he explained. “But Bitcoin tends to catch up and surge even more due to its higher volatility.”
Investors are now using spot Bitcoin ETFs. This includes not just regular traders but also sovereign wealth funds. Pompliano highlighted a recent disclosure by an unnamed sovereign fund. They’re buying Bitcoin through ETFs to avoid regulatory issues.
There’s also talk of the U.S. government acquiring Bitcoin. Pompliano spoke with Bo Hines, from the President’s Advisory Council for Digital Assets. “The U.S.might buy as much Bitcoin as possible,” he said. The government is exploring ways to do this, like selling gold or using tariff revenues.
This move could change how countries view Bitcoin. “While others mine Bitcoin, the U.S. might buy it directly,” Pompliano noted. This could lead to new geopolitical dynamics around the cryptocurrency.
