Binance Releases Secure wallet Extension for Crypto Management
Binance unveiled a beta version of its innovative wallet extension for Chrome. Users can now manage their digital assets and interact with decentralized apps right in their browser.
The extension uses keyless multi-party computation (MPC) tech. It divides the private key into three parts stored separately. This reduces risks compared to traditional keys. Users unlock the extension by scanning a QR code or importing an existing wallet.
This tool helps manage assets across multiple blockchain networks. It requires creating a password at frist use. Sessions expire after 24 hours of inactivity, ensuring security.
- Available only for Google Chrome currently.
- More browsers will be supported soon.
However, there are potential security concerns. Hackers might trick users with fake extensions or websites posing as Binance. They could also exploit vulnerabilities in browsers or devices already infected with malware.
To stay safe, always download the official extension from trusted sources.Double-check QR codes and website origins. This helps prevent malicious actors from accessing your wallet data.
