CryptoQuant CEO Admits Mistake in Bitcoin Bull Cycle Prediction
CryptoQuant CEO Ki Young Ju has acknowledged an error in his earlier prediction about the end of bitcoin’s bull cycle. in March 2025, Ju forecasted a bearish or sideways trend for BTC over the next six to 12 months.Though, Bitcoin’s recent surge past the $100k mark on May 8, following President Trump’s U.K. trade deal proclamation, proved him wrong.
Apologizing to his followers,Ju stated,”I was incorrect.I will work harder to deliver better analyses.” He noted that the market is now in a transitional phase, no longer dominated by conventional whales and retail investors.
Key points include:
- ETFs, MicroStrategy, and institutional investors are now critically important players.
- Government agencies are also considering Bitcoin transactions.
Ju believes the old profit-taking cycles, where whales sell during price peaks, are less relevant.Instead, new liquidity from institutions and ETFs can counter whale sell-offs. “We should focus on this new influx,” he said.
Despite the recent bullish price action, Ju maintains that the market is neither fully bullish nor bearish. on-chain data analysis remains crucial for market direction. As of now, BTC is trading at $102,773, up 3% in 24 hours, but daily trading volume has dropped by 30% to $51 billion.
