Ethereum foundation Restructures Leadership for Clearer Roles
The Ethereum Foundation has revamped its leadership to clarify management and board roles. This update was shared in a blog post on April 28.
Hsiao-Wei Wang and Tomasz K. Stańczak are now co-executive directors. They will collaborate with Bastian Aue and Josh Stark, who join the management team. The new setup aims to streamline operations and strategy.
the management team will handle daily tasks and strategy. The board will focus on long-term goals and compliance. The board has four members. Vitalik Buterin,Ethereum’s co-founder,will provide technical advice. aya miyaguchi, the president, will guide the long-term vision. Patrick Storchenegger will ensure compliance with Swiss laws. Wang will also be on the board, acting as a bridge between the board and daily operations.
The board will act as a “security council,” protecting Ethereum’s core values. Wang and Stańczak will prioritize scaling Ethereum’s layer-1, improving layer-1 and layer-2 connections, and enhance user and developer experience. They will also focus on censorship resistance, open-source development, privacy, and security.
Stańczak will serve a two-year term while working with Nethermind and launching an Ethereum-focused venture fund. The Foundation remains committed to supporting the Ethereum ecosystem without becoming a centralized authority.
These changes come as the community calls for the Foundation to play a larger role in areas like decentralized finance.
