Pontus-X: EuropeS Largest Data Space Unveiled at Hannover Messe 2025
On March 31, deltaDAO AG launched Pontus-X at Hannover Messe 2025. This production version is a notable milestone for Europe’s digital sovereignty. Built on the Gaia-X framework and powered by Oasis Network’s privacy-preserving blockchain, Pontus-X is now Europe’s largest public data space.
With over 180 institutions onboard, including Airbus and T-Systems, the platform supports secure data sharing and monetization across borders and industries. It offers more than 570 services in sectors like aerospace, manufacturing, and AI.
Pontus-X uses a federated approach to data sharing, focusing on control, privacy, and interoperability. Its Compute-to-Data feature allows algorithms to process details without exposing the underlying data. This is ideal for sensitive sectors like defense and space.
To understand how this works, crypto.news interviewed Oasis Network and pontus-X leadership. The Q&A covers confidential computing, data access controls, and the platform’s potential as the default stack for sovereign AI and data monetization in Europe.
- Oasis’s Sapphire ParaTime uses hardware-level Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs) to protect data during processing.
- deltaDAO explains how Pontus-X enables legally binding digital contracts that comply with EU rules under the Data Act and MiCA.

Pontus-X Launches on Oasis Mainnet: A Milestone for Data and AI
Pontus-X has officially gone live on the Oasis mainnet, marking a significant step in bringing trustless, private, and compliant data and AI solutions to production. This platform, built on Oasis, offers versatility in cross-chain interoperability, custom gas tokens, and smart contract design.
The next steps involve deeper integration and further development. The deltaDAO team aims to make it easier for new partners to onboard and meet customer needs. Plans include extending functionality like cross-chain interoperability, native token payments, and smart contract templates for sovereign data use cases.
Monetization of data, AI models, and digital services is handled directly on-chain. Currently, a mock stablecoin token is used for testing. Though, the team is in talks with digital EURO providers for future integrations.
Pontus-X is Europe’s largest publicly available data space. It scales through 16 validators across multiple European countries, processing over 1.2 million transactions on its testnet. It connects over 15 initiatives, including five Gaia-X lighthouse projects, via a democratically governed ledger.
Live services include Airbus’ Functional simulation,RADIUSMEDIA’s Holowork AR,and Skywise Flight Analyzer. Pontus-X is also part of the EU Blockchain Regulatory sandbox, exploring legal and regulatory questions. This experience is shaping future rules on blockchain-based data monetization and AI-driven data usage in Europe.
