Trust Wallet user reports losing funds without approving transaction

A Trust Wallet user has reported losing 3,830 USDT from his cryptocurrency wallet without authorizing any transaction, raising fresh concerns about the security of the self-custody platform. Summary A Trust Wallet user claimed that 3,830 USDT disappeared from his wallet without any transaction approval or warning, despite having used the application for approximately five years. Another user complained that tokens swapped for USDC never arrived, prompting Trust Wallet Support to provide troubleshooting instructions and offer assistance through its support system. A separate user alleged that someone impersonating a support representative on NEAR Protocol’s Discord server drained his Trust Wallet, with screenshots showing outgoing transactions involving multiple cryptocurrencies. The first complainant maintained that he had not authorized any transfer, while the cause of his reported loss remains unclear. In a November 3 post on X, Iaroslav Dubovoi, who uses the handle @noirvox_studio, claimed that the funds had disappeared from his wallet without any warning or request for transaction approval. “I just lost $3,830 USDT from my @TrustWallet,” Dubovoi wrote, adding that he had simply opened the application and discovered that his money was gone. According to the user, blockchain records showed that the funds had been transferred, although he could not explain how the transaction had taken place. Dubovoi questioned the wallet’s security and demanded an explanation from Trust Wallet, urging other users to share his post. I just lost $3,830 USDT from my @TrustWallet.No transaction approval. No warning. I simply opened my wallet and my money was gone. The blockchain confirms the funds were transferred, but I still have no idea how. What the hell is the point of a crypto wallet if you can’t…— Iaroslav Dubovoi (@noirvox_studio) November 3, 2026 The complaint had attracted more than 166,000 views at the time of the supplied screenshot, alongside hundreds of replies and reposts. Trust Wallet user shares transaction hash after reporting missing funds Following his initial complaint, Dubovoi published what he described as the transaction ID associated with the missing funds. The transaction hash he shared was: 6e26ec6faf90f1c9f484e5f19d29a207da0c55918191c8dbf20625d9250ac25d Dubovoi claimed that he had been using the same wallet for approximately five years and had consistently taken precautions to protect his cryptocurrency holdings. His account of the incident suggests that he did not knowingly approve the transfer at the time the funds disappeared. The transaction identifier provides a starting point for examining the movement of the funds, although the blockchain network, recipient address and circumstances surrounding the transfer were not established in the supplied posts. Trust Wallet is a self-custody cryptocurrency wallet, meaning users retain control of the private keys needed to authorize transactions. Unlike centralized exchanges, where customer assets are generally held and managed by the platform, self-custody wallets allow users to manage their cryptocurrency directly. Unauthorized transfers can occur through several methods, including compromised private keys, malicious smart contract permissions and deceptive transaction signatures. The particular method involved in Dubovoi’s reported loss has not been identified. In a separate exchange on X, another Trust Wallet user, identified as Abdul under the handle @HasbullahAbdulH, complained about encountering problems while swapping cryptocurrency tokens. The complaint received a response from the verified Trust Wallet Support account on November 4. Hi @HasbullahAbdulH , sorry to hear you’re having trouble with your swap. This article covers the most common swap errors and how to resolve them: https://t.co/ljdmuSQB1XIf your issue isn’t covered there, tap this link, press “Open in Trust Wallet”, and tell the assistant you’d…— Trust Wallet Support (@HeyTrustWallet) November 4, 2026 Support representatives directed Abdul to a troubleshooting article covering failed swaps, stuck transactions and situations where users receive an unexpected amount of cryptocurrency. In another complaint posted on November 3, an X user identified as Mister Tee, who uses the handle @meeyatariq, claimed that his Trust Wallet had been drained after he encountered someone impersonating a support representative on NEAR Protocol’s Discord server. The user shared screenshots of his wallet activity showing outgoing transactions involving ETH, BTC, BNB and NEAR, including a transfer of 3 NEAR valued at approximately $11.49. Hi can someone help me . A person pretending to be support on Near server Discord just drained my Trust Wallet. Is it possible to trace them pic.twitter.com/5W4zQ2vncN— Mister Tee (@meeyatariq) November 3, 2026 Unlike Mister Tee, who attributed his losses to a fake support representative, Dubovoi maintained that he had not approved any transaction or received a warning before discovering that his funds were missing. Trust Wallet has previously dealt with wallet security incidents The latest complaint follows earlier security problems involving Trust Wallet, including a major incident affecting its browser extension in December 2025. As crypto.news previously reported, Trust Wallet acknowledged that a security incident involving version 2.68 of its Chrome extension had allowed attackers to drain cryptocurrency from affected users without transaction approvals. Blockchain investigator ZachXBT initially flagged the suspicious transfers after multiple users reported unauthorized withdrawals. Former Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao subsequently confirmed that affected users would be compensated while the company investigated the incident. Losses from the December wallet exploit eventually reached approximately $7 million, with investigators identifying malicious code introduced through a compromised browser extension release. The incident involved attackers gaining access to the extension’s source code and distributing a malicious version through the Chrome Web Store. More recently, Trust Wallet warned users about a fraudulent website impersonating its cryptocurrency card service. The warning concerned phishing attempts designed to trick users into connecting their wallets and potentially signing malicious transactions. Such attacks can grant third parties permission to transfer specific tokens without requiring them to obtain a wallet’s recovery phrase. A separate October investigation by blockchain security firm Salus identified malicious USDG permit signatures that allowed attackers to obtain spending permissions and withdraw funds from affected wallets. In those cases, attackers used previously obtained authorizations to execute token transfers without requiring victims to approve each subsequent movement. Trust Wallet has previously advised users to avoid sharing recovery phrases or private keys and to use its official support channels when investigating suspicious wallet activity.
