South Korean securities firms prepare their tokenization platforms Koscom’s presentation comes ahead of South Korea’s new tokenized securities framework, which is scheduled to take effect on Feb. 4, 2027. The Financial Services Commission recently proposed amendments to rules governing the issuance and trading of tokenized securities, including stocks, bonds, funds and fractional investment products. Public consultation on the proposals runs from Oct. 2 through Nov. 11. Several South Korean financial companies have been developing their own systems ahead of the regulatory changes. In September, Hanwha Investment & Securities completed a tokenized securities platform supporting Avalanche and Hyperledger Besu. The brokerage began developing the system with blockchain technology firm FairSquare Lab in 2025. KB Securities has taken a different approach through a partnership with Securitize and the Optimism Foundation. The companies plan to develop tokenized funds for institutional investors, beginning with a proposed money market fund on OP Mainnet. Meanwhile, Eugene Investment & Securities signed an agreement with BEATOZ in September to test stablecoin settlement for tokenized securities subscriptions. The project will examine whether subscription, payment and settlement can operate through a connected blockchain system. Eugene had already developed a tokenized securities platform in 2024 and participated in a Korea Securities Depository pilot the following year. More recently, Meritz Securities partnered with Ripple to explore institutional digital asset custody and tokenization infrastructure. The companies plan to begin their cooperation within existing regulations as South Korea develops its digital asset framework. LG CNS, which worked with Koscom on its issuance infrastructure, signed a separate agreement with Securitize in October covering tokenization technology and institutional digital asset services. Koscom to present AI stock prediction service Beyond tokenized securities, Koscom will introduce financial data analysis services that use artificial intelligence. The exhibition will feature K-EFS, a Korean stock prediction score service developed and launched with LG AI Research. Koscom said it will provide consultations on financial cloud support programs for fintech companies and the D-Testbed initiative, which supports financial technology testing and development.
