SoftBank and Ark Investment Eye Tether’s Mega Funding Round
SoftBank Group and Ark Investment Management are reportedly in talks to join Tether Holdings’ upcoming funding round. this move could considerably boost TetherS position in the crypto world.
According to Bloomberg,the funding round could value Tether at up to $500 billion. The stablecoin giant is seeking $15–$20 billion in private placement, offering about 3% of the company. The funds will support Tether’s expansion into AI and energy sectors.
Tether’s growth is evident. CEO Paolo Ardoino recently shared on X that daily USDT transfers exceed $17.4 billion, a 130x increase as 2020. Ardoino envisions Tether as “The Stable Company,” building resilient infrastructure and advancing financial sovereignty.
Benjamin Habbel, the new chief business officer, will lead Tether’s organizational growth. Habbel,co-founder and CEO of Limestone Capital,will focus on finance,investments,and portfolio expansion.
Tether is also launching USAT, a U.S.-regulated stablecoin for American customers, by year-end. Bo Hines, a former White House crypto official, will head this project.
These developments signal Tether’s ambition to lead the crypto industry. With backing from softbank and Ark, Tether aims to solidify its position as a top cryptocurrency company.
