On Wednesday, a shimmering 12-foot statue of former U.S. President Donald Trump clutching a Bitcoin was erected near the U.S. Capitol. The striking display appeared temporarily on 3rd street, sparking curiosity among D.C. residents.
This art piece was funded by a group of crypto enthusiasts, according to ABC7 News. The statue aims to highlight the Federal Reserve’s recent interest rate cut and its potential impact on Bitcoin prices.
Hichem Zaghdoudi, representing the organizers, stated, “The statue bridges political and financial innovation. As the Fed dictates economic policy, we encourage debate on cryptocurrencies’ rising importance.”
Organizers also highlighted Trump’s advocacy for crypto regulations. The statue was visible only from 9 AM to 4 PM on Wednesday.
