Israeli Man Arrested for Crypto-Paid Espionage for Iran
A 27-year-old Tel Aviv resident was arrested for allegedly spying on israeli officials for Iran. The suspect, Or Beilin, reportedly received thousands of dollars in cryptocurrency for his espionage activities.
beilin was instructed to take secret photos of officials’ homes, document military sites, and report on political graffiti. He was apprehended on June 24 by israeli police and the Shin Bet. Authorities seized his computer and digital equipment used for crypto transactions and communication with Iranian contacts.
Beilin remains in temporary detention as investigations continue. The Tel Aviv Magistrate’s Court extended his detention until June 26. Authorities warn of the threat posed by Iranian intelligence services recruiting Israelis via social media, offering crypto rewards for espionage.
